Is the Portia Club a Non-Profit organization?

Yes, the Friends of the Portia Club, Inc., is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation.

How old is the Portia Club?

The Portia Club was built in 1927.

Who started the Portia Club?

The Portia Club was started as a women’s club in 1895. In 1919, the women voted to build their own clubhouse. Their dream was fulfilled and the Portia Club was opened on Tuesday, November 01, 1927.

Is the Portia Club available for weddings?

Yes, the Portia Club is a perfect venue for weddings, offering a charming and historic backdrop for your special day.

How many people can we have at our event?

Capacity is 90 Guests Seated at Tables; 155 Guests Seated in Chairs; or 210 Guests Standing.

What is included when I book the Portia Club?

Your booking includes access to our spacious hall, stage, and prep kitchen.

What do you mean by well-equipped kitchen?

We have a refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee pot and utensils.

How many tables and chairs are available for our use?

We have 10 round tables and 80 chairs.

How far in advance should I book my event?

We recommend booking at least three months in advance to secure your preferred date.

Are decorations and setup included in the rental?

While decorations are not included, you’re welcome to personalize the space to fit your vision.

Are there restrictions on decorations?

We’ve had too much damage done to walls so absolutely no nails, tape, tacks, glue or sticky substances can be used to attach things to the walls.

Do you have ADA Parking?

Yes. There is an ADA Parking Space at the back of the building through the alley.

Do you have a policy for alcohol?

Yes, you will receive a copy of our guidelines. All Idaho State Laws must be followed and we require a $200 deposit if alcohol is served at events.

Do you require insurance?

Yes, we require insurance for your event. A simple call to your insurance agent and you can add the event to your current policy. If you do not have insurance we have a list of companies that sell events policies.

Do we need to make a deposit?

Yes, we require a $100 refundable security deposit. If alcohol is served at your event we also require a $200 alcohol surcharge refundable deposit.

Why didn’t you return my full deposit?

If we found damage to the clubhouse or you did not clean up after your event your full deposit will not be returned.

Why is your booking fee non-refundable?

We had too many last minute cancellations so we now require a $30 non-refundable booking fee.
